From the flotsam and jetsam that washes up on the shores of Mitlenatch, it’s clear that the ocean is seen as, in some part, a giant garbage dump. A group of volunteers cleaned up our beaches during the 2018 season–Susan Rybar gathered the debris from each day and snapped these revealing photos.

Thanks, Susan, for documenting the variety of flotsam that finds it way to our shores. It’s an amazing collection.
I found a fine red bucket one day, and I still use it in my garden.
